2013 is the year of Filipina beauty queens. Philippines caught the world’s attention when most of their beauty queens contestants made it to 2013 beauty pageants.

Miss Universe – Ariella Arida placed 3rd runner up

Miss World – Megan Lynne Young won the crown

Miss International – Bea Rose Santiago won the crown

Miss Earth – Angelee Claudett delos Reyes landed 8th place

Miss Tourism Queen International - Cindy Miranda finishes Top 10

These Pinay beauties dazzled the world last year when they conquered the best international beauty pageants. I love Bea's speech because it simply shows and reflected every Filipino's gratitude towards international  community who helped Philippines after the Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

"The whole world saw how my country, the Philippines, suffered. The agony of my people was felt. But one by one, country to country came to help. I would like to thank all the nations that helped my country. In our darkest hours, you have opened my eyes and my heart to how important it is to support each other. If I become Miss International, I will uphold international camaraderie to sustain the spirit of sympathy and to continually share the message of hope. I believe that whatever calamity may come to us, as long as we have each other, there will be hope."

These girls really set the bar high in beauty pageants and hopefully we will have a winning steak in beauty pageants because they can truly inspire us a lot.

Alodia Gosiengfiao (full name: Alodia Almira Arraiza Gosiengfiao) is enjoying fame as the world's most popular cosplayer. She is, in fact, quite popular in Japan where the performance art is quite the craze among young people.
Further testament to the cosplay goddess' popularity is her Facebook account, with 2.8 million likes.
Although already quite busy traveling foreign lands to attend various cosplay conventions and related events, Alodia was in town recently to perform in "Marble Wonderland" a Japanese cultural entertainment show held on Jan. 17, at the Movie Stars Cafe in SM Mall of Asia.
Alodia top-billed the show together with two Japanese dancers, Niina, who also goes by the intriguing handle 217, and Miume.
217 and Miume are figures of note from the so-called Akihabara culture who are now gaining popularity in video sites such as NiconicoDouga and YouTube among others.
"Marble Wonderland," directed by popular New York-based Japanese director Junya Yamada -- who has worked as dancer and theater actor in the Big Apple as well as Melbourne and Berlin -- featured a cosplay fashion show, anime and other aspects of Japanese pop culture.
The show was a fundraising vehicle benefiting the the victims of killer Typhoon "Yolanda," staged in cooperation with Girl Meets Girl project.
The items exhibited during the fashion show are now available in the Philippines through www.hallohallomall.com, said to be the Philippines' biggest online shopping mall, under the online shop name of Asia Kawii Way.
Alodia has been into cosplay and anime since she was little (It is said that she has been gaming since age 3). Starting in 2003, she has been invited to cosplay events around the world either as guest performer or as judge in competitions.
The former Animax Asia and GMA host was included in FHM's list of 100 Sexiest Women twice. Last year, she was made cover girl of the popular magazine.
Since she gained popularity as a cosplayer, Alodia, who is also singer, recording artist and actress (she appeared in "Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme"), has become a much sought after celebrity endorser.
